Katherine Magyarody is a creative writer and academic researcher.

Her first novel, The Changeling of Fenlen Forest debuted from Great Plains Press on 24 April 2019. CM Magazine recommended The Changeling of Fenlen Forest for a “well- crafted plot” that “will engage audiences and encourage a second reading to discover more secrets.” The Changeling of Fenlen Forest is available at Amazon.ca, Indigo.ca, Amazon.com, or Barnes and Noble.

She is also the winner of a 2017 Robert J. Dau PEN Award for Emerging Writers for her short story “Goldhawk,” anthologized in PEN America Best Debut Short Stories 2017. Katherine is represented by Amy Tompkins at the Transatlantic Agency.
She recently finished a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Texas A&M University, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. She received her doctorate in English Literature from the University of Toronto in 2016.
Katherine has been an editorial assistant at the University of Toronto Quarterly and a research assistant for a project on eighteenth-century botanists. She has also worked in a bakery and a bookstore.
Katherine grew up in Toronto, Ontario.
