“Goldhawk” wins a PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers

I am excited to be one of twelve winners of the inaugural PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers. Catapult will be publishing all the winning stories in The PEN America Best Debut Short Stories. For more, see the official website: https://pen.org/2017-penrobert-j-dau-short-story-prize-emerging-writers/

My story, “Goldhawk,” originally appeared as the winner of the 2016 Open Seasons Award for short fiction in The Malahat Review. You can read more about it here: http://web.uvic.ca/malahat/contests/open_season/2016_winner.html.

I am very grateful for the judges at PEN and for John Barton, the editor of The Malahat Review, for nominating my story.
